Description
DuPont seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as an Environmental Engineer. The successful candidate will provide environmental support to the DuPont Sabine River Works Plant located in Orange, TX. This position requires a combination of regulatory knowledge, technical expertise and environmental operations leadership.
The Environmental Engineer is responsible to provide tactical leadership and program management for the environmental program(s) assigned to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, corporate policies, standards, and guidelines, and site- specific requirements. This position requires the environmental professional to perform environmentally technical "hands on" work and collaborate with site technical, operations, and maintenance personnel concerning environmental-related issues. This position requires minimal delegating or management of other people.
The Environmental Engineer will provide general support for air, water, waste and other environmental regulatory and internal program requirements based on the specific needs of the sites.
Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
• Prepare and submit required reporting to federal, state and local agencies.
• Lead and/or support preparation and negotiation of permit applications.
• Review environmental regulations and determine or seek assistance with applicability determinations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, site(s) procedure development and updates, routine and non-routine activities such as environmental impact assessments of site(s) projects or process changes.
• Interface with regulatory agencies, prepare required documentation, schedule any required testing and provide additional follow-up documentation as required.
• Lead and/or participate in investigation of environmental incidents, implement system improvements to reduce potential for future events, and record environmental deviations in the DuPont Incident Tracking System.
• Lead and participate in 1st party environmental audits and coordinate site(s) 2nd party environmental audits.
• Act as site(s) representative during audits by or other interactions with federal and state environmental agencies and respond to requests or notifications from environmental agencies.
• Participate in communication of environmental issues in community interactions.
• Assist with maintenance of site Responsible Care and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
• Develop and deliver environmental training.
• Participate on appropriate US Cluster environmental competency team(s).

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in a technical discipline
• 3 years work experience within an environmental capacity
Preferred Qualifications:
• BS or higher degree in chemical or environmental engineering, environmental science, or related discipline;
• 3 years work experience in an environmental capacity within a manufacturing industry;
• Demonstrated working knowledge of environmental competencies such as air, water/wastewater, and waste;
• Ability to process information and analyze data;
• Able to translate environmental skills/knowledge to effectively accomplish complex tasks;
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve, as well as apply, environmental skills/knowledge effectively to coach and train others;
• Strong attention to details;
• Knowledge of RCMS and ISO 14001 requirements;
• Effective at processing information and analyzing data, drawing on knowledge, judgment and experience to recognize potential environmental issues or opportunities for dissemination of environmental training;
• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills;
• Proficiency with MS Office including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint plus the ability to quickly adapt to new technology.

Environmental Engineer - Houston, TX
Position Description
The primary purpose of this position is to support the JSC ERT Group in meeting in Environmental Support Services Contract obligations including but not limited to support, compliance, administration, development and enhancement of environmental programs at JSC and other associated facilities in a cost efficient manner. Duties and Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and monitor compliance with air permitting and regulatory requirements. Prepare and/or review regulatory air compliance reports and compliance tracking tools. Prepare and/or review monthly and annual air emission inventories. Initiate and implement improvements to air compliance program. Monitor CEMS and other compliance parameters.
* Provide support to other environmental compliance areas including storm water, waste water, and SPCC as needed.
* Conduct monthly state and federal regulatory reviews for new and emerging issues.
* Evaluate projects or other facilities changes for environmental requirements.
* Other duties as assigned related to contract, compliance programs, or group needs. Perform technical and regulatory activities, analyses, implementation and oversight for various environmental programs.
Required Skills
7-10 years environmental engineering experience. 5-7 years of hands-on experience with the Texas air program regulations and the Federal Clean Air Act. Must have broad experience with air quality compliance and permitting issues. Prefer working knowledge with compliance programs for other environmental media. Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a valid certification by TCEQ as a Visible Emissions Evaluator. Strong organizational and technical writing skills. Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
Education
BS/BA in Environmental Engineering, Engineering (Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering), related engineering degree, or equivalent.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This is a replacement position at our base and process oil refinery in Princeton, Louisiana. We are looking for an experienced engineer with mid-size refinery or chemical company experience, to support our environmental needs. The primary responsibility of this role, as Environmental Engineer, is to oversee environmental compliance for the daily refinery operations. This will include direct contact and interaction with Operations, Maintenance and Technical personnel, at the local and corporate level. Candidate is expected to provide recommendations to correct deficiencies or improve performance and will be able to produce timely and accurate reporting of such variances to performance. This job requires candidate to be on-call nights, weekends and Holidays.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirements: HS Diploma or GED required, BS in Chemistry, Engineering or Environmental Science preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Relevant experience or equivalent industry experience in operations with a strong background in refinery operation and environmental testing/compliance
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations that apply to refineries
