Entry Level Environmental Scientist

Sage Environmental Consulting is a dynamic, forward-looking environmental consulting company providing permitting, compliance, and due diligence support to the energy and petrochemical industries in Texas and elsewhere. Sage is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist to support our operations in central and south Texas. The successful candidate will work in one or more of the following areas of service:
• Due diligence
• Groundwater and soil sampling
• Data assessment
• Spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan preparation

The person will be responsible for research, field sampling, report writing, and other duties as assigned.

The position requires an individual who is a self-starter and who works well in a team environment. A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources/Biology, Geology, or the equivalent plus 0-1 years of experience including field work is required. Some experience in or exposure to an oil and gas or oilfield services environment is a plus. The position requires travel for sampling in the Eagle Ford region south of San Antonio and occasional heavy lifting. The candidate must be competent in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

SKA Consulting, L.P. (SKA) is seeking a STAFF SCIENTIST/ENGINEER/GEOLOGIST in its Houston, Texas office. The successful candidate should have 1-3 years previous environmental consulting experience and OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hr training (29 CFR 1910.120). BS required in
Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or other Earth Science. Responsibilities include both field and office work including, but not limited to: sampling soil and groundwater, logging soil borings, field mapping, supervising drilling and remediation subcontractors, documenting daily field activities, installing groundwater monitoring wells, and authoring detailed site assessment and data evaluation reports. Candidate should possess a strong working knowledge of EPA- approved low-flow groundwater sampling methodologies and knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (TX & LA) is preferred. Experience with the Texas TRRP rule (30 TAC 350) is strongly desired. Must possess excellent technical writing skills.
