GES seeks a Houston based Corporate Health & Safety Specialist to support our southern offices and International Programs by training employees on GES’ HSSE and behavior based safety programs.

Our successful candidate will also be involved with reviewing current programs and assisting in developing new programs and guidance.

This position requires at least 25-50% travel to local offices and to countries in Central America and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide Loss Prevention System (LPS) training to office staff and subcontractors
Schedule & provide required training sessions, in conjunction with GES Corporate Director and local HSSE Officers, such as: 8 Hour Refresher, OSHA Supervisory Training, CPR, First Aid and Defensive Driving training modules.
Assist local HSSE Officers in follow-up/investigation of accidents/injuries.
Assist local HSSE Officers in scheduling new employees for medical surveillance, training, etc.
Develop and/or assist offices in the development of Site Specific Health & Safety plans.
Provide or assist local HSSE Officers in New Employee HSSE program Orientation.
Conduct or assist local HSSE Officers in completing field, office and warehouse inspections.
Provide project-specific HSSE program and LPS support as needed, field or administrative

Skills/Requirements:

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related science degree and 4-7+ years of safety management, preferably in the environmental consulting field
Experience in HSSE programs is preferred. Hands-on field experience a plus
Working knowledge of LPS and/or LPS trainer certification is a plus
Must possess excellent communication, organizational, facilitation, time management, and computer skills
Alcohol/Drug screening and a Background Check are required

Position:  Staff Ecologist
Location:  Houston, Texas

Perennial Environmental Services (Perennial) is actively seeking a highly motivated person for a staff level position in Houston, Texas.  Perennial is a rapidly growing environmental consulting firm that provides ecological services to a variety of clients throughout the country.   

This individual will participate in wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, baseline environmental studies and regulatory compliance audits.  They will assist in the preparation and editorial review of the associated technical reports and will be directly involved in consultations with federal, state, and local environmental agencies.  

The qualified candidate will be a graduate of a Master’s level program with technical knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines:  botany, soil science, aquatic ecology or plant ecology.  Experience with GPS and GIS systems is preferred.  The candidate must also possess excellent written and oral skills, be highly organized, and detail oriented.

Supports “for hire” petroleum terminals and pipeline facilities in maintaining compliance with environmental regulations in a defined geographic region which includes Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Duties include: communicating with state and federal regulators, the public and employees (union/salaried). Provide air quality compliance support to gasoline terminals and gasoline/crude oil pipeline facilities (emission inventory calculations, permit/regulatory interpretation, new air permits, renewal of existing permits). All facets of the NPDES program for terminals and pipeline facilities (completion of DMR’s, sampling guidance, trouble shooting problems, permit renewals, hydro test approval).
